You know. Everyones talking about how we all need to get better and become a better community, but everyones been saying that for a while now. Why does it just seem like it’s getting worse and worse?

Do you remember the first time you danced? Do you remember the reason you stuck to it? Do you remember how free you finally felt? Do you remember how you finally felt at home? Do you remember how much passion you had? Is it still there? Is it still a passion for dancing or has it changed to a passion for recognition? Do you still love it? Or is it just routine to you now? Because I’m not sure it means as much to you as it used to.
I’m sick and tired of the words first place. That’s not what it’s about. We all say that, but how many of you actually believe it? I feel like I’m always saying something like this after each competition. Everyones attitudes have gone down the drain and I’m not really proud to be a part of this community right now.
If it’s slowly become so negative like this… how’s it going to be in a couple years? It’s up to us to make a change. A good change.
We’re born to feel and then we’re reprimanded for those feelings. We’re told to have ambition and to dream big and wide, but they shoot us down when they don’t agree. We let other people’s thoughts and opinions affect our lives, when the funny part is… it’s our lives. We care too much and I’m going to break free from that because I’m tired of making my decisions for anyone but myself. Maybe it’s selfish, but how am I going to be happy with a life I made out of someone else’s approval?
No one ever fucking listens anyways so I just keep it all to myself and hope that I can get used to what hurts me instead of trying to fix it.
